Boston - Chinook name for "American."  The prominence of Boston in the early history of the United States led to its name being used for "America" or "American" on both the Atlantic and Pacific coasts.  The Micmac Indians still call the United States Bostoon, and an American is a Bostoonkawaach.  Many western Indians picked up the Chinook term.
