Lappawinze - A Delaware Indian chief noted as the signer of the "Walking Purchase Treaty" at Philadelphia in 1737.  This treaty granted the whites land extending from Neshaming Creek in Pennsylvania as far as a man could walk in a day and a half.  The Pennsylvania governor had a road built inland and employed a trained runner, which the Delaware considered a fraud.
